FRI Dehradun is a premier forestry research institution under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE). As a technical support agency under the SARRA (Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority) initiative by the Government of Uttarakhand, FRI is responsible for sub-catchment prioritisation and river rejuvenation planning for rivers Chandrabhaga (Chamoli) and Punar (Rudraprayag). MoUs were signed on 19th May 2026.
