G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBPNIHE), Almora is a premier research institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. As a key technical partner under SARRA's One District-One River program, GBPNIHE is responsible for sub-catchment prioritisation and river rejuvenation planning for three rivers across the Kumaon Himalayan region — Jata Ganga (Almora), Garud Ganga (Bageshwar), and Purvi Ramganga (Pithoragarh). All MoUs were signed on 27th March 2026 and inception reports have been received ahead of schedule.
